Good morning/afternoon class and boys. Due to the cyclone in Queensland and Earthquake in New Zealand no I don't think the fashion festival should take place in Sydney. It wouldn't be right to hold a fashion week when places like Queensland and New Zealand had just such a hard time pulling through the natural disasters that have occurred there.
Festivals like these waste money on clothes and fashion accessories. This money should be put towards helping Queensland landers and New Zea landers pull through this tough time and help out these people who are in need out.
Luckily no one has died in Queensland from the recent cyclone but there has been many houses that have been destroyed as well as shops and roads. People from around Australian have put money in charity for Queensland but they need much more so they can rebuild and restore their state. New Zealand just experienced an earthquake in Christchurch which destroyed many buildings including a baptist church that was very important to many people who live there. There has been 154 people confirmed dead and still 50 more people missing.
At a time like this with both Queensland and Christchurch are in need of help Sydney have decided to waste money on a festival for fashion. I find this highly selfish and am ashamed at the people who have put this idea forward. This isn't a time for Sydney to think about themselves and fashion it is a time to think of ohers and to help them out as they are in need and I hope you would agree with me.

Convincing Parents Speech: T.V. In My Room
Pathos:
Mum and Dad I think it would be very sensible to let me have a T.V. in my room. I feel that I am not given any rights over my younger brother who is a whole 2 years younger than me. I also would be upset if I was not given any privileges over him. I come to a conclusion that it isn't fair and I also feel that you don't seem to notice that I don't get many rights over my 12 year old brother. It would be a nice gesture for you to allow me to have a T.V. in my room. I feel so underprivileged that I will even be inclined to pay my own money that I have earned for the T.V.
Logos:
Mum and Dad it is very logical that I have a T.V. in my room as when it is early in the morning I don't have to get out of bed, walk down the stairs and turn on the T.V. there. If there is one in my room it would be much easier for me just to wake up turn it on and relax until I feel like going downstairs to get breakfast. Also if I have slept in and there is already someone downstairs watching T.V. then I will not get to watch what I want and will not get to relax the way I would be able to in my room. The T.V. in my room doesn't have to be expensive or big but it would save the family fights and make me feel more comfortable and relaxed in the mornings. There is lots of space in my room to fit the T.V. and it seems like that space is waiting to be filled up. So Mum and Dad and I think it would be a very good idea to have a T.V. in my room.

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

1. What do you notice about the length of the speech?
The speech is very short but is very effective the way it is presented. In the last paragraph the first sentence is ''we cannot dedicate - we cannot consecrate - we cannot hallow - this ground. The constant use of the word we and the rhyming of dedicate and consecrate makes the speech more effective and techniques like this have been used throughout the speech.

They are short and the start and then it gets bigger when he remind's them of the civil war and how their father made the nation.

Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death -
No man thinks more highly than I do of the patriotism, as well as abilities, of the very worthy gentlemen who have just addressed the House. But different men often see the same subject in different lights; and, therefore, I hope it will not be thought disrespectful to those gentlemen if, entertaining as I do opinions of a character very opposite to theirs, I shall speak forth my sentiments freely and without reserve. This is no time for ceremony. The questing before the House is one of awful moment to this country. For my own part, I consider it as nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery; and in proportion to the magnitude of the subject ought to be the freedom of the debate. It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at truth, and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country. Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings.
Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Pathos, Logos And Ethos
Pathos - Pathos is associated with emotion, such as appealing to an audience's sympathies and imagination. One common way to convey a pathetic appeal is through a narrative or a story that communicates an abstract lesson or meaning through a concrete experience. Values, beliefs and understandings of the arguer are implied and communicated to the audience through the story.
Logos - Logos refers to any attempt to appeal to the intellect, and it is the general meaning of a "logical argument." Academic arguments rely on logos. Logical connections of reasoning are needed to support all positions.
Ethos - Ethos, or the ethical appeal of the argument, represents credibility. The person delivering the argument must be trustworthy and respected as an expert who's has knowledge about the issue in contention. This person must impress upon the audience his position of authority and integrity.
Queen Elizabeth -

I don't know what to say really.
Three minutes to the biggest battle of our professional lives
all comes down to today.
Either
we heal
as a team
or we are going to crumble.
Inch by inch
play by play till we're finished.
We are in hell right now, gentlemen

I pissed away all my money
believe it or not.
I chased off anyone who has ever loved me.
And lately, I can't even stand the face I see in the mirror.
You know when you get old in life things get taken from you.
That's, that's part of life.
But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff.
You find out that life is just a game of inches.
So is football.
Because in either game life or football
the margin for error is so small.
I mean, one half step too late or to early
you don't quite make it.
One half second too slow or too fast
and you don't quite catch it.
The inches we need are everywhere around us.
They are in ever break of the game
every minute, every second.
On this team, we fight for that inch.
On this team, we tear ourselves, and everyone around us
to pieces for that inch.
We CLAW with our fingernails for that inch.
Cause we know,
when we add up all those inches
that's going to make the fucking difference
between WINNING and LOSING
between LIVING and DYING.
I'll tell you this
in any fight
it is the guy who is willing to die
who is going to win that inch.
And I know if I am going to have any life anymore
it is because, I am still willing to fight, and die for that inch
because that is what LIVING is.
The six inches in front of your face.
