Writing Prompts - It Is Not Cruel To Keep Animals In Cages
Animals should we kept in captivity for many reasons. The three main reasons are they have a less change of being extinct which gives further generations to enjoy and experience the wildlife to, people can learn more about them whereas if they were in the wild be can't learn anything unless we capture them and observe them closely and finally some animals that invade human settlements pose a threat so if we keep animals in cages they no longer are a threat.
If we don't keep animals in cages they will eventually become extinct and if they become extinct people will not be able to enjoy and appreciate them in the future. More importantly if they become extinct then the whole food chain will be disrupted and thus animals will die out which will cause they prey and predators to be disrupted. In years to come if this happens it will become a very big issue. If we keep them in cages we keep make sure they don't become extinct by looking after them and encouraging them to breed when a species is close to extinction.
If animals are in wildlife we can observe them but we can not learn much about them. If they are keep in a zoo like Taronga Zoo their habits are very identical to their ones in the wild. They are fed everyday, animals like monkeys have climbing equipment and other animals of their species are in the same enclosure. By doing this we can learn and observe closely how they live, how they interact with one another and what they do on a day to day basis of their lives.
Some animals invade human settlements and thus need to be put in a cage so they don't pose a threat to humans. There is a story where a snake got into someones home and ate an infant. For this very reasons you can see that in some cases animals an be very dangerous and life threating thus need to be kept in cages.
Animals are very interesting creatures which we can learn a lot about. If we do keep them in captivity then this can be achieved. It is not cruel to keep them in a captivity where it replicates their home in the wild. People should be allowed to enjoy and admire these creatures now and in years to come. For these reasons I believe animals should be kept in cages.
